Another Fantasyland Update

Last Week at the D23 event, Disney made some announcements about the upcoming remake of Fantasyland. Of course, being Disney there were lots of pictures.

Here are a few more pictures from the attractions just to get you in the mood –

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid ride is a big part of the upgrade. A “sister” ride is already open in Disneyland (you can see the video here) and it’s getting rave reviews.

Gaston's Pub in Fantasyland

I have a bit of a problem with this picture. (No it’s not the the little boy is drinking a beer.) It’s that they seem to have lots of beers in Gaston’s Pub. The Magic Kingdom doesn’t allow alcohol so is the picture just a fake or will Disney actually serve something that looks like beer in a stein? Inquiring minds want to know.

The Princess Experience in Fantasyland

Finally, the biggest part of the expansion is the areas for the Princesses. This shows what one will look like. Just think how fun it will be to stand in line for hours just to get an autograph from one of the Disney Princesses. I sure can’t wait. (Just kidding.)

It looks like everything is either on or ahead of schedule. The next couple of years are going to be very exciting.

If you are planning a vacation to Disney World, why not let Dad and his friends over at Pixie and Pirate Destinations help. Just drop us a note and we’ll get started.

  1. If you were raised on the East Coast as I was, then you would know about rootbeer floats that look just like the beers in Gaston’s Pub. Maybe that is what they are thinking.
I may have started this already, but tropical storm lee keeps getting in the way. Hope this makes it to you.

I kind of thought it looked like the old commercial where the guys with mustaches blew the tops off of root beer at each other except the liquid in the mugs appears to be gold colored. I hope you are right and it’s root beer floats. I love those things.

About Lee, it’s not supposed to come our way. We could really use it. The whole state seems to be on fire. At least the temperatures are supposed to cool down after tomorrow. (Just in time for the big event I might add.)
