Mrs. Mom laid down the law last night. She told me in no uncertain terms that it was time for me to get back to work on the Palooza. I think her exact words were … “How am I supposed to know what we are planning to do if you don’t write it down?” (Maybe I need to work on my verbal communication with Mrs. Mom.)
Yes, I know. I’ve been missing in action for about a week or maybe that’s a month. Who’s counting? I’m not going to bore you with the phalanxes of excuses like my dog ate my homework, or I spent a week in the hospital, because those would be lies. I’ve just had other things to do. (Sometimes a Dad just has to break down and take care of business.)
But, you don’t care about any of that. You want to know, what’s next for the Palooza. (Maybe you do, maybe you don’t. But I’m gonna write it anyway.)
So here we go. Back to Dad and Mrs. Mom’s Disney Palooza 2012. Aren’t you excited.
For review – on Sunday, October 6 we will fly to Orlando and spend a night in our second favorite Disney World hotel, the Pop Century. On Sunday, October 7, Dad and Mrs. Mom will spend a full day at our favorite park, the Magic Kingdom where we will pack in a full day of fun including completing Dad’s Nine by Noon Challenge. (See the minute by minute list of activities here.)
On Monday, we will be in Animal Kingdom. Our Animal Kingdom day always includes a trip to our favorite restaurant (‘Ohana). Why do we always go to ‘Ohana on Animal Kingdom day? Are you ready for this … (Dad’s about to start singing again)
Tradition, Tradition. Tradition, Tradition.
(Dad sings good.)
Yes, it’s tradition for us to eat at ‘Ohana on Animal Kingdom night, but that answer just doesn’t quite satisfy, does it? The real reason we eat at ‘Ohana on AK night is our Animal Kingdom plan usually has us finishing with the park by 6 pm or so. All the other parks we end up in the park until after the fireworks, which doesn’t let us get to ‘Ohana before it closes. So, we always get a late (around Wishes time) ADR for ‘Ohana and enjoy a Perfect end to a Perfect day.
Hey Dad. What does a Perfect day at Animal Kingdom look like?
That’s a great question. It’s pretty simple. A Perfect day at Animal Kingdom starts early in the morning. Ours starts at 8:00 with breakfast with Donald at Donald’s Safari Breakfast. After breakfast, we’ll start at the Safari and work our way around the park. (This means Animal Kingdom day starts and ends with big meals. Could be a problem.)
Thanks to Mrs. Mom the Palooza is back on track. Thank you Mrs. Mom. Now if Dad just stays motivated ….
