Disney World – One last ride on Buzz, please!

Christmas Day. A bittersweet day for most of our Disney World holiday trips. It’s go home day.

We were packed. We had ridden Rock-N-Roller Coaster one last time. The Princess, Mom and the Man-Child all wanted one last shot at beating Dad on Buzz before we got on the charter jet and flew home. (OK, it wasn’t really a charter jet, more like American Airlines. Can’t a guy dream?)

I warned them that the Magic Kingdom would be packed, packed, packed.

We gotta try. Please, Daddy, Please.

How can you argue with that?

So we went to the Magic Kingdom. There were people everywhere. Rows and rows of people everywhere. Every doorway was packed. Every street was packed. All the lines were long.

“Sorry kids,” I said, “I don’t think this is going to work. We only have about 1 hour until we have to leave for the airport.”

We got to Buzz. The wait time said 180 days, I mean minutes. People were everywhere. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t breathe. “IT”S TIME TO GO!!!!”

So we left.

I vowed right then and there, never to go to the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day again.

thank you for the information on Disney world during the XMAS holidays.
I was planning on driving from Toronto Canada to Orlando and visit Disney world as a XMAS New Year present for the kids. Good thing I read your stories.

How about from New year week Jan 1 -Jan 10?
    cheers,

    Genaro,

January is a great time to visit Walt Disney World. The first will be packed but crowds will decrease dramatically every day. Check out Dad’s January Disney World Crowds page
