For the next week at Dad’s Blog, we are celebrating the holidays with Magical Christmas Memories Week! Each day we’ll feature a personal story from our team of their magical holiday memories at Walt Disney World! We hope you’ll share yours with us too, in the comments below or over on our Facebook page!
To kick thing off, we thought we’d look to our fans to share a few of their most memorable WDW holiday dining memories! Everything at WDW gets a special added touch during the holidays – even the restaurants. We asked our fans on Facebook to tell us all about their dining experiences at WDW during the holiday season and they gave us some great responses. Let’s see what they had to say.
Biergarten got some great reviews…
Rachel Owens: We ate at Biergarten the week after Christmas last year. Dinner at Biergarten is a MUST during the holiday season. There is nothing quite like the lights dimming and the entire restaurant taking pause to sing “Silent Night” together.
Ashley Goldsmith: We ate two years ago at Biergarten on Christmas Eve and it was amazing. Their show is always entertaining, but it is especially magical at Christmastime. This is my favorite holiday memory.
Shannan Wright: We ate at Akershus for Christmas! Belle had on her beautiful Christmas gown and our photos were great.
Here come a couple big tips for those of you who look to avoid large crowds.
Kevin Reutter: It’s not a meal but just had the desert party at MK last night. Incredible view of the castle and fireworks (no fighting crowds). Desserts were phenomenal, about 20 different choices and all you can eat.
Allen & Samantha Abshire: Last year we ate at Whispering Canyon for lunch and did Hoop de Doo for dinner on Christmas day. They were both nice family meals and we were able to avoid the craziness of the parks and enjoy the holiday!
The Asian pavilions of the World Showcase are not to be overlooked.
Paul Saint: I remember eating at the Teppan Edo at the Japan Pavillion on Christmas day and had a wonderful time with our chef, who was a master at cooking everyone’s food.
Charlie Cacioppo: Just ate at tokyo dining at Epcot 12/13/14. Had the candlelight processional package. Worth every bit. A very special time for the family done at Disney’s finest time of year! We still are missing it.
Tanya Gee: We ate at the New Years Eve dinner at the “offstage” pavilion between Canada and Great Britain. Was very special!
You can find out more about this special experience Tanya is talking about here.
Derrick McMullen: We spent Christmas there last year. It was beautiful. Ate at several restaurants, Boma, Sanaa, crystal palace, fultons crab house, Wolfgang puck, liberty tree tavern and a few others. It was the best vacation ever. Decorations everywhere and were beautiful.
Amy Lipe: Christmas morning breakfast at Cinderella’s Castle. Food was amazing. The experience was even more amazing…magical even. It was as if we were royalty on Christmas morning.
Patty Kocsis: Cinderella Castle is Magical AND delicious and Le Cellier…just wonderful and worth the $$$.
Whether you have dined in a WDW restaurant during the holiday season, or want to do so in the future, which restaurant(s) do you think are the most extraordinary this time of the year?
