Swine Flu reported at Disney World
Panic now, avoid the rush.
If your going to Walt Disney World any time soon you might want to read this article. (Click here)
A Swine Flu case has been confirmed at Disney World.
Honestly, what does that mean if your going in the next couple of weeks.
Not much. Just wash your hands as often as possible, and be careful not to get sneezed on and you’ll be fine.
Or you can do like the rest of the world and run off in a panic, cancel your vacation, lose hundreds of dollars, cry like a baby, whine about “fur-i-ners taking over and spreading diseases.”
Me, I say relax, stay tuned in to the news, in case it does really turn in to a problem, enjoy your vacation. Just shower 10 times a day.
May God have mercy on your souls…
(just kidding)

I’m still going.
Probably.
No, really, I’m not scared.
That’s the way!
There’s nothing to be scared of. It’s just a little flu.
Yep we leave from Cleveland on Friday and are coming for a week. The media is whipping this in to a ridiculous frenzy. Our family seems quite capable of washing our hands.
My family and I are still going this Saturday for a week!!! Its going to take more than a flu to stop us, though we are going to be very careful but it wont ruin our vacation. I think if people practice a little hygiene we will all be fine!!
We leave Saturday for WDW. No sniveling wussies here, this thing is over-hyped. Why change plans when you have as much chance catching it from oneof your kid, or going to the market? If I get sick, it will hopefully be at the end of our vacation.
But hey, you really should be scared! This stuff will kill ya! Stay home….it has nothing to do with the shorter lines in WDW…I’m really just concerned for your health
Im still going for a week with the family and kids. By the way its still not a confirmed case.
My husband and I are going to Disney world in the middle of September. Do you think the swine flu will be over with or under control by then? I have a 21 month old daughter who is staying home. I dont want to bring her home any sickness that may harm her.
Yes, I do think that the flu epidemic will be long over. I think you may be seeing signs of it diminishing now. I wouldn’t worry too much about it in September.
About September- The CDC/DHS has actully said that it is likely the H1N1 (swine flu) infection numbers will abate as the summer heat intensifies. During this time though, it is very possible it could mutate and become more contagious as it adapts to humans, thus it could reemerge in the fall with the beginning of flu season. This is what has happened historically with epidemics and the 1918 pandemic. So, we decided to keep our May traveling plans and not reschedule for the fall. Who knows what our situation will be with this flu in the fall. Maybe the vacine will be available by then. However, in the 70′s more people died of the vacine (45) than of the actual swine flu (1). I’m just sticking with the statistics at this point.
Very nice information. Thanks for this.
It’s not really any more or less dangerous than traveling anywhere else where swine flu has appeared. Okay, there are the odds that someone with swine flu may also be there.. But I wouldn’t say they are really any higher than those of anywhere else.
It is recommended for children under 6 months of age to avoid heavily crowded areas if possible. Therefore, we will re-schedule for next year.
