Disney just announced a new hotel coming in 2012. It’s the first new non-Disney Vacation Club for several years. The new resort will be called “The Art of Disney Animation”. It will be a Value Resort (prices start at $82.00 per night).
The new resort will be located across from the Pop Century. Several years ago, Disney started to expand the Pop Century but the aftereffects of 9/11 stopped the construction. The buildings have been abandoned ever since. There have been rumors that construction would resume for several years.
The new resort will have 1,120 of the “Family Suites” along with 864 of the traditional Value Resort rooms. The “Family Suites” will sleep up to 6. The theme of the new resorts will include art from top Disney movies.
