Hey Dad, I’m hungry, The Man-Child said. That’s not  unusual. The Man-Child is always hungry. Even after eating at ‘Ohana, 2 hours later, while the rest of us are still suffering, The Man-Child is looking for a snack. It’s just not natural (OK, yes it is, he’s a teenage boy).

Anyone else hungry? I asked because to tell the truth I was hungry too. Yeah, Mrs. Mom and The Princess said, we could eat something. That settled it, time to eat.

But where? THE PLAN wasn’t specific about lunch. We were just going to grab the nearest fast food. So where is the nearest fast food?

Yorkshire County Fish House was the nearest fast food.

How about some fish and chips, I asked. The Princess said, hey, Dad, do they have anything other than fish and chips?

I panicked. I froze. I …

I’m having a hard time admitting this, but I didn’t know what was on the menu at Yorkshire County Fish House. Dad’s a unquestioned Disney World expert. I know everything about Disney World. Everything. But I failed. Take away my Disney decoder ring. Don’t read anything I ever write again. (Not really, I don’t really mean that. Please keep reading.)

So I did what any self respecting Disney World expert would do, I snuck a peek at the menu that was posted on the side of the building. (Ain’t I sumpthing?) Yep, only fish and chips. I said confidently. (I knew it all the time.)

The Princess grumped a bit and she said she wanted to look around a bit, so she and Mrs. Mom took off in search of some other kind of food, while The Man-Child and I got in line for fish and chips. In a couple of minutes my cell phone rang. It was Mrs. Mom. They decided to eat fish and chips and were saving a table on the water for us.

We ordered 4 helpings of fish and chips and some drinks. We got our food, found Mrs. Mom and The Princess and sat down and ate. About 4 seconds later I looked up and everyone was done. Everyone. Scarfed. Finger-licking was well under way.

Wow, that was good said Mrs. Mom. Can I get some more? Said The Man-Child (that’s my boy). Even The Princess enjoyed Yorkshire County Fish Shop.

It was really good.

Really Good.
